Stephen Craigan: Fraser Forster keeping Celtic on Roy Hodgson’s radar

Fraser Forster could become only the second Celtic player ever to win an England cap after he was called into Roy Hodgson's squad for the upcoming games against San Marino and Poland.

For the record the other was Alan Thompson who was capped in 2004.

After keeping an impressive 25 clean sheets in 38 Scottish Premier games last season, setting a new SPL record along the way, and now playing in the Champions League, Neil Lennon has been campaigning for Forster to be included by Hodgson.

He’s a great shot stopper, is a big presence in the goal at 6ft 7in and has shown, even though he’s playing in Scotland, he’s improving all the time.

Celtic fans feel the England manager hasn’t looked favourably on players in the SPL because of the standard; hopefully Forster can change that opinion.
