Three uncapped players called up to Republic of Ireland training camp

Republic of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill has called three uncapped players into his squad for a preliminary training camp ahead of next month's World Cup qualifier against Austria.

West Ham defender Declan Rice, Burnley counterpart Kevin Long and Preston midfielder Alan Browne have been drafted into to a 19-man party, including Cork City keepers Mark McNulty and Alan Smith, which started work together at the Fota Island resort in Cork on Tuesday.

The remainder of the squad will assemble in Dublin next week before flying out to the United States for a friendly against Mexico in New Jersey on June 1, returning to face Uruguay at the Aviva three days later and then the Austrians in a key Group D fixture in June 11.

Training camp squad: Mark McNulty, Alan Smith (both Cork City), Cyrus Christie, Alex Pearce, Richard Keogh (all Derby), Shane Duffy (Brighton), Andy Boyle (Preston), Kevin Long (Burnley), Declan Rice (West Ham), John Egan (Brentford), Eunan O'Kane (Leeds), Alan Browne, Daryl Horgan (both Preston), Conor Hourihane (Aston Villa), Wes Hoolahan (Norwich), Stephen Gleeson (Birmingham), Callum O'Dowda (Bristol City), David McGoldrick (Ipswich), Daryl Murphy (Newcastle).
