Warrenpoint sharpen up squad by taking back Eamon Scannell on loan from Blues
Versatile Eamon Scannell has returned to Warrenpoint Town on loan from Linfield for another season and the Milltown men have also snapped up defender Evan White from Athlone Town.
Scannell, 20, had an impressive campaign for Town last term and boss Stephen McDonnell is delighted to have him back.
Linfield manager David Healy is a big fan of the youngster who is comfortable anywhere on the left side of the pitch. Healy is pleased at how he is developing under McDonnell and is happy for Scannell to continuing playing for Warrenpoint believing that his long term future lies at Windsor Park.
"I'm really pleased to bring Eamon Scannell back to the club on loan from Linfield for another season," said McDonnell.
"Eamon comes to us again on the back of an excellent campaign for both himself and for the team.
"Everybody is aware of the quality that Eamon has and we are delighted to have him at the club to continue his development."
White arrives from Athlone with McDonnell determined to help the youngster fulfil his potential.
"Evan has shown in the games we have watched him in that he will add lots of quality to our squad," stated the Town manager.
"He is an athletic player and mainly operates as a defender, however, he has shown he can also play in a number of positions. We look forward to educating and developing Evan over the course of the season and are happy he has joined Warrenpoint."
McDonnell has now clinched six summer signings with Scannell and White joining new recruits Dermot McVeigh, Gavin Smith, Jake O'Connor and Kaleem Simon.
