We're feeling unbeatable, says Magennis

By Steven Beacom

Northern Ireland striker Josh Magennis has revealed the team now believe they will win every game they play in… and that includes Saturday's 'campaign defining' World Cup qualifier in Azerbaijan.

"I know it wasn't always this way with Northern Ireland, but we really do expect to win every game now," said Magennis.

"The standards from the gaffer (Michael O'Neill) and the demands of the senior pros are vital. We've tasted tournament football at the Euro 2016 finals so it's not unrealistic to believe we can win every game we play."

Asked if he felt the weekend Group C clash with Azerbaijan was a campaign defining fixture, Magennis stated: "Yes, I think so. It's similar to the Finland game in the last campaign when we knew if we won, we put ourselves in a very, very strong position.

"We know if we keep picking up points and keep winning, it puts other teams under pressure - and pressure can do crazy things to people."
