Wylie savours double

Northern Ireland Under-21 assistant boss Alfie Wylie hailed a great night for the country as they were able to celebrate victory on two fronts in European Championship qualifying.

While the senior side were making the headlines with their 1-0 victory in Slovenia, the youngsters were busy beating San Marino 4-0 in Coleraine. Steve Beaglehole's side were already out of contention for a place in the finals but they will take plenty of confidence from a dominant display.

Wylie said: "We're absolutely delighted. To win any international match is good but to keep a clean sheet and score four goals is fantastic.

"We had lots of chances, put lots of great balls in and we absolutely dominated the game so it's pleasing. It's a great night for Northern Ireland."
