Armagh mourn death of Jack Bratton

The death has occurred of Jack Bratton, a member of the Armagh team that fell to Kerry in the 1953 All Ireland senior football final. He had earlier won an All Ireland medal at Minor level with his county in 1949.

Rated as one of the best full-backs ever to have emerged from Ulster, his high fielding skills, accurate distribution and clever vision made him an imposing player. In addition to his All Ireland Minor medal, he also won three Lagan Cup honours and two Ulster Championship medals.

He was selected for Ulster and won an inter-provincial championship medal in 1956. He also won four senior Championship medals with the Armagh Harps club.
