Armagh and Tyrone are without key stars in semi-finals mission

By John Campbell

Armagh and Tyrone will be missing key players when they embark on their respective missions in a bid to claim semi-final places in Division Two of the Lidl Ladies National Football League tomorrow.

The Orchard County will be without Caroline O'Hanlon and Tiarna Grimes for their assignment against Clare, while Tyrone will be without Neamh Woods for their important clash with Cavan.

With Cavan also eyeing a last-four slot, their showdown with the Red Hands carries considerable importance.

Armagh go to Clare somewhat chastened by their narrow defeat (2-9 to 2-8) at the hands of Waterford last weekend but they still have Aimee Mackin, Fionnuala McKenna, Aoife McCoy and Blaithin Mackin in their line-up and all are capable of putting scores on the board.

Tyrone, meanwhile, will look to Gemma Begley and Aine Canavan in particular to plot possible success against a Cavan side which has shown consistency for the most part in the league.

The Red Hands were slow starters in the league but have stepped up their performances considerably recently and emphatic wins over Clare and Laois will have given them added confidence for tomorrow's big test.
