Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney will have an opportunity to assess a number of new players when his team take on Cavan when the Dr McKenna Cup competition gets under way at Kingspan Breffni tomorrow night (7.45pm).

The Orchard County have already met Tyrone in a fundraising game in which McGeeney blooded a number of players ahead of the Allianz League, which begins at the end of this month with his side renewing their rivalry with the Red Hands and confronting Dublin in their opening two games.
