Armagh's young guns fire to end Tyrone hopes

By Kevin Kelly

Armagh are through to the Ulster Under-20 final after a 2-22 to 0-24 win over Tyrone last night.

Tyrone's Paul Donaghy hit a brace but Armagh replied through Rian O'Neill and Conor Turbit. Donaghy put Tyrone in front only for O'Neill to hit back.

Tyrone hit a purple patch with an Emmett McNabb brace as well as ones from Donaghy and Conor Shields. Turbitt narrowed the gap before Eoghan O'Donnell levelled matters.

O'Neill and McNabb struck and Donaghy hit a wonder point for Tyrone to force extra time.

Jason Duffy palmed in an Armagh goal but Tomas Carney landed frees. Ryan Owens and Brian Kennedy traded points before a McNabb free. Tom Loughran and Tiarnan Drayne put Tyrone two in front before O'Neill hit a free.

A Donaghy effort gave Tyrone some breathing space. McQuillan closed the gap and Justin Kearns forced extra time. Conor Magennis, Ryan Garvey and Kevin McAlinden saw Armagh home.
