Ashe calls for video technology
Kildare county chairman Padraig Ashe has urged the GAA to introduce video technology to settle controversial calls in big games.
His call follows the Lilywhites' defeat to Down in the All-Ireland SFC semi-final, when two controversial decisions were later shown to have been incorrect by television replays. Benny Coulter's first-half goal should have been disallowed for a square ball infringement, while a Kildare point was waved wide by an umpire.
"It can start with the All-Ireland championships and I think all the stadia are well equipped to do that," said Ashe.
"This would do away with all the controversies that have been going on this summer."
