Calling the shots

ALL-IRELAND CLUB CAMOGIE FINAL

SLAUGHTNEIL v SARSFIELDS

(Sunday, Croke Park, 3.30pm)

Slaughtneil camogs have left no stone unturned in their quest to defend the title and are a better side this year with Tina Hannon adding another dimension to their attack and Shannon Graham fully integrated back into the panel.

Like last year, they will get it tight, but who would bet against them?

VERDICT: Slaughtneil

ALLIANZ DIVISION ONE

MAYO v TYRONE

(Saturday, Castlebar, 2.00pm)

Huge game for both teams. Tyrone come into it with better preparations. Maybe that will be enough.

VERDICT: Tyrone

ALLIANZ DIVISION ONE

MONAGHAN v DONEGAL

(Sunday, Clones, 2.00pm)

Donegal’s season is beginning to tail off dramatically and without Patrick McBrearty, won’t be winning this.

VERDICT: Monaghan

ALLIANZ DIVISION TWO

DOWN v TIPPERARY

(Sunday, Newry, 2.00pm)

Should Down lose this, they will be in huge bother. A relegation to Division Three would be a disaster for manager and team and would spell the beginning of the end for Eamonn Burns in charge of his county.

VERDICT: Tipperary

ALLIANZ DIVISION TWO

ROSCOMMON v CAVAN

(Sunday, Dr Hyde Park, 2.00pm)

One more win would put Mattie McGleenan and his Cavan players back into the top flight after one year away. It might have seemed unlikely at the start of the year but he has fashioned a decent team and they are making strides.

VERDICT: Cavan

ALLIANZ DIVISION THREE

FERMANAGH v ARMAGH

(Sunday, Brewster Park, 2.00pm)

Rory Gallagher would have known that this game would be crucial, but last weekend’s collapse makes it even more so.

A win here would show them they were good enough to go up in the first place. Maybe the reality of that will be too much, but with Armagh’s injuries, we go for a home win.

VERDICT: Fermanagh

ALLIANZ DIVISION THREE

DERRY v WEXFORD

(Saturday, Celtic Park, 1.00pm)

Should be a routine win for Damian McErlain’s men, now that they have a panel taking shape and the chance to do some proper work with the weather faring up.

VERDICT: Derry

ALLIANZ DIVISION FOUR

ANTRIM v CARLOW

(Sunday, Corrigan Park, 1.00pm)

Almost everything Carlow have done this year, after their longest Championship campaign in decades last summer, has been gold-plated.

Superbly organised and with a unity of purpose, they come to Belfast convinced promotion is within touching distance.

VERDICT: Carlow

ALLIANZ NHL1B

ANTRIM v LAOIS

(Sunday, Dunloy, 2.00pm)

It’s been a season of nearly-yet-so-far for Antrim hurlers. Missed chances to beat Galway and Dublin was followed by a morale-puncturing defeat to Laois, and the two must do it all over again in the relegation play-off.

It’s anyone’s game really, but perhaps the home support might provide a factor.

VERDICT: Antrim

ALLIANZ NHL 2B FINAL

DOWN v MAYO

(Sunday, Breffni Park, 1.00pm)

Down have shown the better form.

VERDICT: Down
