Canning hails McIntyre

Ollie Canning has urged Galway hurling manager John McIntyre to continue for another season.

Canning, who is likely to call time on his playing career, believes the Tribesmen have made significant progress under McIntyre, and that the management team should remain in place.

"There was a lot of progress made over the last couple of seasons with John McIntyre and his backroom team and I feel that they definitely should stay on," he said.

"There's a good atmosphere there. The players are enjoying training because they've got top class people involved. Everything from the coaching side of things to the physical training to the physios, the team doctor, the kit man, everyone that's involved."
