Cavan take U21 title

Cavan retained their Ulster U21 football title with a battling display at Brewster Park, defeating Tyrone by 1-10 to 0-10.

Five points from full forward Kevin Tierney denied the Red Hands in a repeat of last year's provincial decider.

Cavan were awarded a penalty after just 15 seconds when Chris Conroy was fouled after picking up a Joe Dillon cross, and wing back Darragh Sexton stepped up to slot the kick home.

And they defended the lead superbly to set up an All-Ireland semi-final clash with Roscommon.
