Ireland captain Stephen Cluxton will lead the side after all in the International Rules series against Australia.

A club v country dilemma had threatened his participation, but after his Parnells side lost its Dublin SFC quarter-final to Ballymun Kickhams on Saturday, he is free to travel for the two-Test series.

Cluxton, who won an All-Star award on Friday evening, but missed out on the Footballer of the Year award, will fly out on Sunday to join the rest of the squad.

Ireland will play Australia in the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on October 28 and at the Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast on November 4.
