Cody reigns again at Kilkenny

Brian Cody is preparing for a 13th season as Kilkenny hurling manager, following his ratification by the county board.

Backing for the James Stephens man was unanimous as he was handed another year in the job.

Cody, who has led the Cats to seven All-Ireland triumphs since taking on the job in 1999, will once again have Michael Dempsey and Martin Fogarty as selectors.

Kilkenny's bid for a record fifth successive title was halted by Tipperary last September, and Declan Ryan is expected to be appointed as Tipp's new manager, following the surprise resignation of Liam Sheedy.
