Cork cruise to cup victory

Cork had little difficulty in brushing aside the challenge of WIT in a one-sided McGrath Cup tie at Pairc Ui Rinn, where they coasted to a 0-19 to 0-5 win.

With the All-Ireland winning squad currently abroad on holiday, only Alan O'Connor and Kevin McMahon from last September's Croke Park triumph were in action.

The Rebels led by 0-8 to 0-4 at half-time and conceded just one point in the second half.

There were impressive performances from David Gould, who scored five points, Jason Sexton (3) and substitute Mark Cronin, who came off the bench and hit four points from play in as many minutes.
