Counihan: Experience key to win

Experience and hard work provided the key to Cork's comeback win over Dublin in a thrilling All-Ireland SFC semi-final, according to Cork manager Conor Counihan.

"These fellas have worked very, very hard and have been through a lot. They did grind it out. That bit of experience and patience paid dividends in the end," he said.

"People have questioned us down through the last year and we've had to dig ourselves out in Wexford, Limerick and different places. The important thing is we have learned to dig and that's something that's been important for the team to know.

"When things get rough we have to get in there and work it out. When you're around that long, it is a benefit.

"Teams like Dublin probably learnt that the hard way. It's difficult but when you look at where Dublin have come from under Gilroy in the last 12 months, it's phenomenal and a serious achievement."
