Counihan hopeful of victory
Cork manager Conor Counihan believes defeat in last year's All-Ireland SFC final will act as a spur to his players in Sunday's Sam Maguire Cup decider against Down.
"You'd like to think that last year's defeat would count for something. You wouldn't want to experience that kind of hurt again," he said.
"I think the experience has stood to us. Fellas know we've lost games in the past when things were tight by making the wrong decisions and hopefully we have learned from that to keep our composure."
Cork have not won an All-Ireland title in 20 years, and Counihan is anxious to end the drought.
"There have been a lot of disappointing years since then. There's a feeling that if this bunch of players could pull it off it would be a major, major achievement."
