Derry claim Dr McKenna Cup

Derry survived a Tyrone fightback to win the Dr McKenna Cup for the first time in 12 years in a thrilling final at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh, defeating Tyrone by 2-12 to 2-11.

Paddy Bradley converted four frees, and Enda Muldoon drilled home a 35th minute goal to give Derry a 1-7 to 0-2 interval lead.

Sean Cavanagh grabbed a goal to lead Tyrone's fightback, but a Ciaran Mullan goal and points from the Bradley brothers sealed it for the Oak Leafers, despite Stephen O'Neill's late Tyrone goal.
