Gallagher ends World Champs on high with two more medals
Kelly Gallagher had a strong finish to the Para Alpine World Championships by winning two medals on the final day's action in Italy.
The Bangor skier, alongside her guide Gary Smith, followed up their silver in the downhill on Wednesday with two more successes in yesterday's action at Sella Nevea.
Gallagher added a bronze medal in the Super-G to her tally before then picking up another bronze in the Super Combined to round off her Championship on a strong note.
Indeed, it could have been even better for Gallagher had she not agonisingly lost out on a further two podium finishes when she was beaten by 0.1 seconds in both the slalom and giant slalom on Tuesday, finishing fourth in both disciplines.
However, the 33-year-old can be delighted with taking her medal haul to nine in her World Championship career, with the three she has earned this week added to her Winter Paralympics gold from Sochi in 2014.
Meanwhile, it was a fantastic week for Britain's Menna Fitzpatrick who walked away with five medals for her efforts alongside her guide Jen Kehoe.
A national team-mate of Gallagher's, Fitzpatrick added a silver medal in the Super Combined to the gold medals she won in the downhill and Super-G, as well as the slalom silver and giant slalom bronze medals she won earlier in the week.
