Dismal Antrim consigned to a relegation play-off

NHL DIVISION 1B: Waterford annihilated a poor Antrim team at Walsh Park yesterday.

The 32-point margin was a fair reflection of the gulf in class that existed as Antrim's place in the relegation play-off was confirmed.

In the early stages, the Saffrons were level at 0-2 thanks to two Paul Shiels frees. However, when Stephen Bennett rifled the ball to the net, the floodgates opened for Waterford.

They led at the break by 1-13 to 0-5. Ciaran Johnston did hit a couple of scores for Antrim, but Waterford proved superior.
