Dooley loses appeal

Offaly star Shane Dooley has failed in his appeal against a four week ban, but he will be available to play for his county against Dublin in the NHL on Sunday.

Doley was sent off whole playing for University of Limerick against Cork IT in the Fitzgibbon Cup last weekend, but the suspension applies only to that grade.

The Central Hearings Committee imposed a four week ban for "striking with the hurley".

The availability of their captain and top scorer is a major relief to an Offaly side seeking a first win in Division One.
