Doubts over inter-provincial games

Fresh doubts have been cast on the future of the inter-provincial championships, after they were omitted from the GAA's Master Fixtures list for 2011.

The inter-pros in football and hurling did not take place this year, after Central Council delegates voted to suspend the series for 12 months.

Interest in the competitions has been waning for several years, and in recent seasons, the finals have been played abroad, in cities such as Rome, Boston, Paris, London and Abu Dhabi, in a bid to revive their popularity.
