Down boss wants team to bounce back

The big challenge facing Down next season is to prove they are not a "one-year wonder", according to manager James McCartan.

"I suppose the thing I would like is that we wouldn't be one-year wonders and we'll try and ensure that we won't be," he said following the one-point defeat to Cork in the All-Ireland SFC final.

"We think we have a squad that can compete year in, year out although it's easier say it than do it. Getting back to Croke Park seems a million miles away at the minute, but obviously it's the target we'll be setting."
