Dr McKenna Cup: Down 4-12 Monaghan 0-11

Kalum King bagged two goals as Down cruised to victory in Clones yesterday.

Down had the points wrapped up by half-time,when they led by 3-6 to 0-3. The result makes them odds-on favourites for a place in the final ahead of Wednesday's clash with St Mary's College.

First-half goals from King (2) and Dan Gordon put Down firmly in control.

Benny Coulter added a fourth goal after the break, and although Paul Finlay's free-taking closed the gap, there was no way back for Monaghan.
