Duo return for Laois

Colm Parkinson and Gary Kavanagh have returned to the Laois squad and go straight into the team for Sunday's O'Byrne Cup opener against Wicklow at O'Moore Park.

Both players, who were members of the Leinster SFC winning team of 2003, have been recalled by new manager Justin McNulty after exiting the inter-county scene a couple of seasons ago.

They will get a chance to revive their careers, both having been named in the half forward line.

Another veteran, Padraig Clancy is included at midfield, after missing most of last season through injury.

McNulty has included a handful of newcomers, namely goalkeeper Darren Maher, defenders Shane Julian, Robert Kehoe, Paul Begley and Conor Boyle, and forwards Michael Finlay, Daithi Carroll and Jason Enright.
