English in contention for Tipp job

Nicky English could be in line for a second spell as Tipperary hurling manager after being offered the post by county board officials.

English, who won All-Ireland medals as a player in 1989 and 1991, is understood to be seriously considering the offer.

Liam Sheedy stood down in a surprise move just weeks after leading the county to all-Ireland success last month.
