Ennis blow for Westmeath

Westmeath have suffered a blow with the news that defender Michael Ennis is to miss the National Football League through injury.

Ennis, who captained the team last season, needs surgery on a shoulder injury, and will be out of action until the start of the Leinster Championship.

It's the latest setback for new manager Pat Flanagan, who will have to plan without a number of players who have retired, including Martin Flanagan, Damien Healy and Derek Heavin.
