Ex-Tipp boss Sheedy wins award

Former Tipperary hurling manager Liam Sheedy has been named as the Philips Sports Manager of the Year.

Sheedy stepped down last month, after leading Tipp to their first All-Ireland title in nine years with victory over Kilkenny.

The county dominated the game in 2010, winning the All-Ireland U21 title as well.

Sheedy has since been replaced as senior manager by Declan Ryan.
