Fermanagh produced a superb second-half comeback to come from six points down and seal a 0-13 to 0-12 win over Roscommon at Brewster Park yesterday.

Roscommon had appeared to be in the driving seat as they controlled matters in the first half to go in at the break with a 0-9 to 0-3 advantage.

But it was the Ernemen who bossed things in the second period and Ciaran Corrigan popped up with the winning point four minutes into added time.

Roscommon, who had midfielder Shane Kiloran stretchered off in the opening moments of the contest, took an early grip on proceedings with a patient and measured approach paying off for Anthony Cunningham's side.

The Rossies made good use of the full width of the pitch as they opened up a five-point advantage by the 18th minute.

And Fermanagh's case was not helped by indiscipline in defence with Cian McKeon landing the first two points of the encounter from frees before Donie Smith rattled over a third free for the away side.

The first score from play arrived in the 15th minute as full-back Brian Stack popped over a point and Niall Kilroy extended the Roscommon lead to five with a good point.

But Fermanagh followed this with their best spell of the game as they registered the next three points.

Eoin Donnelly fired over a good point before Aidan Breen quickly added a second after getting on the end of a diagonal ball from Ryan Jones.

Corrigan closed the gap to two points with a nice strike from the left-hand side.

Indeed, it could have been better for Fermanagh when Shane McGullion raced onto a fine pass by Lorcan McStravick but his tame shot was saved by Colm Lavin.

It was Roscommon who finished the half the stronger, though, as they hit four unanswered points.

Evan McGrath and Kilroy knocked over points from play before McKeon and Smith tagged on frees to leave it 0-3 to 0-9 at the interval.

Fermanagh, though, played with a lot more intensity from the outset of the second half with Conall Jones slotting over a point from play and one from a free to close the gap to four, although McKeon replied with a free for the away outfit.

Ryan McMenamin's side, though, were beginning to build momentum and with Donnelly and Ryan Jones driving them on they started to eat into the deficit.

Conall Jones hit three points and Corrigan also fired over as Fermanagh drew to within one point before Ultan Kelm drilled over the leveller.

A wonderful Conall Jones effort then put Fermanagh ahead, although Roscommon did hit back with points from Finbar Cregg and a McKeon free to edge them ahead again in the 69th minute.

Fermanagh were not to be denied, however, and Ryan Jones banged over a point from play before Corrigan clipped over the winner after Daniel Teague had turned over possession to clinch the Ernesiders' first league points of the season.

Scorers: Fermanagh: C Jones (0-6, 3f), C Corrigan (0-3), R Jones (0-1), U Kelm (0-1). E Donnelly (0-1), A Breen (0-1).

Roscommon: C McKeon (0-5, 4f), D Smith (0-2f), N Kilroy (0-2), B Stack (0-1), E McGrath (0-1), F Cregg (0-1).
