Fermanagh prove superior in Wexford clash

Fermanagh 2-20 Wexford 3-8: Fermanagh held a 12 point advantage at half time against a Wexford side that were extremely poor in the first half. Fermanagh were better all over the pitch and with nine different scorers over the 70 minutes, they were very impressive going forward.

The returning Barry Owens was the first scorer of the game when he flicked a ball to the net.

The only worrying aspect for Pete McGrath was the fact that the team conceded three goals in the second half with the centre of defence looking porous at times.

Fermanagh secured their position in Division Three after this win. The Ernemen will be looking back at a defeat to Longford when the game was in their control and wondering what might have been.

Ruairi Corrigan added Fermanagh's second goal with Tommy McElroy and Declan McCusker catching the eye.

For Fermanagh, the attention is already turning to June 1 and the visit of Antrim in the Championship and on current form, they are a team who are certainly improving as the season goes on.
