Tomas Corrigan fires Fermanagh past Laois in easy win

Fermanagh 1-17 Laois 0-10

Tomas Corrigan landed 1-11 as Fermanagh cruised to a comfortable 10 point victory over a disappointing Laois team at Brewster Park yesterday.

Corrigan slotted home the only goal in the 12th minute and by half time had 1-08 to his name.

Laois had accounted for the opening score through Donal Kingston but Fermanagh soon took the upperhand as Corrigan's goal made it 1-02 to 0-01. A couple of Paul Kingston points from play had brought Laois back to within two points but Fermanagh kicked on with Corrigan firing over five points in a row.

By the break they stretched the lead to nine with Barry Mulrone making it 1-10 to 0-04.

Fermanagh put the game to bed early in the second half as they notched the first four points through Aidan Breen, Corrigan, Mulrone and Ryan Jones to move 13 ahead. Laois went on to hit the final four scores of the game but these were only consolations.
