Final joy for Mayo

Mayo scored a comfortable 0-19 to 0-7 win over New York in the Connacht FBD League final at Rockland GAA's newly developed grounds.

New boss James Horan did not make the trip, with county board officials taking up the management duties.

The sides were level at 0-6 each at half-time, but the Exiles faded after the restart.

Jimmy Killeen top-scored for Mayo with seven points, with Trevor Mortimer, Kevin McLoughlin and Enda Varley also contributing impressive points.

Armagh native John Murtagh was New York's leading marksman with five points.
