Flynn to appeal suspension

Kildare midfielder Daryl Flynn is to appeal the six-month ban he received in the wake of Moorefield's Leinster Club SFC first-round defeat to Portlaoise last month.

Flynn was dismissed on a second yellow card deep into the game, but was later involved in an alleged altercation with referee Derek Fahy.

He was subsequently handed the lengthy suspension by the Leinster Council, which, if it stands, will rule him out of the entire NFL campaign.
