Gleeson leaves Sarsfields role

Michael Gleeson has stepped down as Thurles Sarsfields manager after three seasons in charge.

Gleeson wants to concentrate on his new role as a Tipperary selector.

He guided Sarsfields to back-to-back Tipperary SHC wins, but in the wake of last Sunday's Munster club final defeat to De La Salle, he has decided to call time.

He had a distinguished playing career with his club, and also represented Tipp as an accomplished defender.
