Harte open to change

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has urged GAA director-general Paraic Duffy to keep an open mind on possible changes to the All-Ireland SFC structure.

Duffy has warned against a knee-jerk reaction after none of the eight provincial finalists reached the All-Ireland semi-finals.

"I agree with Paraic Duffy that it is virtually impossible to have a perfectly fair system, but that ought not close our minds to the distinct possibility of having a fairer one," said Harte.

"If the system was adjusted so that the four provincial winners played each other for two places in the semi-finals, with the two losers playing the two best qualifiers, we would satisfy much of the criteria now missing from the format."
