Harte returns with victory

Mickey Harte made an emotional return to management as Tyrone launched their season with a 1-13 to 0-13 Dr McKenna Cup win over Donegal at Edendork.

A Mark Donnelly goal helped Tyrone to a 1-6 to 0-2 lead, but resurgent Donegal hit eight points without reply, including two each from Daniel Mclaughlin, Dermot Molloy and Karl Lacey to go in at the break with a 0-10 to 1-6 lead over the hosts, who lost Colm Cavanagh to a straight red card in stoppage time.

Donegal had Neil McGee sent off soon after the restart, and Tyrone finished strongly, with scores from Ryan McMenamin, Brian McGuigan and Aidan Cassidy.
