Kearns keen on Galway job

Liam Kearns has indicated that he is interested in becoming the next Galway football manager.

He has emerged as the bookies' favourite to succeed Joe Kernan, after Kevin Walsh decided to stay with Sligo.

"Of course I would have to consider it if I was approached about a position such as the Galway job but I have not been approached and I'm not aware that I'm being considered," said Kerry native Kearns, a former Limerick and Laois manager.

The new boss will be Galway's fourth manager since 2007, with Liam Sammon having succeeded Peter Ford, before Kernan took over last September.
