Kearns tipped for Limerick return

Liam Kearns could be set to return for a second spell as manager of the Limerick footballers.

The Kerry native guided the Treaty men to Munster final appearances in 2003 and 2004, and to Division One of the NFL during his previous stint.

Limerick Football Board officials have confirmed that Kearns is one of six candidates nominated by the clubs to succeed Mickey Ned O'Sullivan, who stepped down last month after six seasons in charge.

Also in the running is former Clare manager John Kennedy and former Tom McGlinchey, along with John Cummins, John Brudair and Maurice Horan.
