Kerwick to miss remaining season

Tipperary hurling star Pat Kerwick has been ruled out for the rest of the season by injury.

Kerwick needs surgery to correct a groin problem which has been troubling him all season.

"He's had a niggling injury that we just can't get rid of. It's really, really disappointing for him - he played in the All-Ireland final last year and we all saw the guy had real potential," said manager Liam Sheedy.

"I'd say his season could be at an end. It's up in the groin area. He's had numerous scans. We don't think it's going to come right - surgery is probably the only option."
