Kingscourt 0-07 Mullahoran 1-08

A fifty-ninth minute goal from Philip Brady helped Mullahoran tear up the script in the Cavan Senior Football Championship in Breffni Park against hot favourites Kingscourt before a bumper crowd of 6,563.

The Dreadnoughts were the better side early on and led by 0-3 to 0-0 after scores from Ray Lynch, Enda O'Reilly (two) but the Stars soon took charge.

Points from Colm Smith, county minor Padraig Faulkner and two from Cavan U21 captain Barry Reilly saw them level at the break and moving ominously well.

However, the Dreadnoughts dug deep and, having been two down, rounded off the scoring with an unanswered 1-3 in the final ten minutes, with Eddie O'Reilly and Enda O'Reilly (two) pointing before Brady smashed home his goal from close range to put the seal on a first county title since 2006.
