It was an exciting game, with Cavan leading 0-5 to 0-2 early on before a Fergal O'Rourke save ensured that they were 0-6 to 0-4 ahead going into half-time.

Dungannon fought back early in the second half, levelling points after Daniel Kerr smashed it over the bar.

But, buoyed by Dungannon's resurgence, Cavan stepped it up a gear to hit five straight points to lead the game 0-11 to 0-6 before two magnificent late goals from Thomas Edward Donohue sealed the deal.
