Wexford attacker Ciaran Lyng has praised the young defenders who laid the foundations for the Slaneysiders' big Leinster SFC win over Westmeath.
"All credit to our young lads especially - they shone brilliantly. From the fullback line up, they had a bit of a hard time," he said.
"Dessie (Dolan) and Denis Glennon gave them a hard enough time, but they stayed at it, stayed at it - they all survived."
Lyng scored 10 points in the 1-24 to 0-15 success to set up a semi-final meeting with surprise packets Carlow, and admitted he was surprised by the big tally posted by the team.
"It's a great score to put up. We had our targets going in at half-time and they were nowhere near 1-21 to 1-22. But we just kept going at them."
