McCluskey becomes longest serving inter-county player

Fermanagh manager Pete McGrath is able to welcome Tiernan Daly back to the full-back line, after a full year out after tearing his cruciate ligament after the county's run to the All-Ireland quarter-final in 2015.

Veteran defender Ryan McCluskey returns to the heart of the defence and becomes the longest-serving inter-county footballer in the game, following the retirement of Monaghan's Dick Clerkin over the winter.

McGrath has been ready for this one for a while, stating recently that, "Of the three matches in the McKenna Cup, Monaghan looks the most formidable. It's in Clones, they're an experienced, battle-hardened team.

"I'm sure they will experiment to an extent, so will we.

Monaghan manager Malachy O'Rourke has named Drew Wylie as his captain for this weekend, while former captain Eoin Lennon, who lifted the Anglo-Celt in O'Rourke's first year in charge of the county in 2013, joins the management team as selector for the first time.

They are also handing a debut to the highly-rated James Mealiff.
