Monaghan duo set for long spell out

Monaghan have suffered a double injury blow with goalkeeper Shane Duffy and attacker Stephen Gollogly expected to miss the NFL Division 1 campaign in 2011.

Both players have undergone surgery and are set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after they recently travelled to England to have hip-related injuries operated on.

New manager Eamonn McEneaney already has a number of injury problems which have depleted his playing resources for the initial stages of the season.

Conor McManus, Vinny Corey, Eoin Lennon, Hugh McElroy, John Paul Mone and Kieran Hughes are all set to miss the Dr McKenna Cup in January.
