Monaghan pull out

Monaghan have pulled out of Sunday's NHL Division 3A final against Fingal.

The county board has confirmed that the fixture will not be fulfilled, and has informed Croke Park of the position.

Hurling manager Mattie Lennon resigned at the weekend due to a row over the club fixtures schedule.

Some of his players were faced with club football games on Wednesday evening, just days ahead of the hurling final.

The players later threatened to withdraw from the NHL final unless the fixtures problem was resolved.

Fingal will be awarded a walkover.
