Mone out of first qualifier

Monaghan's depleted playing resources have suffered another blow, with defender Dessie Mone set to miss the opening game in the All-Ireland Qualifiers through suspension

Mone received a straight red card in the closing stages of the Ulster SFC defeat to Tyrone, and will have to sit out the Farney county's next game on June 25.

Monaghan have already lost the services of key attacker Tommy Freeman, who has departed for the USA in search of employment.

Skipper Dick Clerkin, who was also sent off in the 1-13 to 1-11 defeat, will not have to serve a suspension.
