Naomh are caught cold at Croker

Limerick's Blackrock proved to be a bridge too far for Ulster junior hurling champions Naomh Colum Cille, at Croke Park on Saturday evening.

NCC hurled passionately throughout, but they struggled to contain a potent Blackrock attack in which Ritchie McCarthy starred, hitting hit six points.

An Aidan Murphy goal on 11 minutes helped the Munster men into a 1-5 to 0-1 lead. Kevin Palmer, McCarthy and Murphy landing points in response to a Niall O’Neill free.

Trailing 1-9 to 0-4 at the break the Tyrone men continued to make a game of it with Joe O’Neill, Seamus O’Hagan and Rory O’Neill all supplying points. Unfortunately the goal they needed never materialised.
