Oakley calls it a day

Ger Oakley, the last remaining link with Offaly's 1998 All-Ireland triumph, has retired from inter-county hurling.

Oakley played for the county for 14 seasons, having made his debut in the 1996 NHL against Tipperary. He won National Hurling League Division Two medals in 2005 and '09.

Goalkeeper Brian Mullins has also retired after more than a decade of service to th county.
