O'Neill leads Cork to victory

Colm O'Neill smacked home two first half goals to send Cork on their way to a 2-14 to 0-10 NFL Division One win over Laois at O'Moore Park.

O'Neill's double strike helped the Rebels to a 2-11 to 0-4 interval lead, with Fintan Goold and Aidan Walsh adding impressive points.

Laois had three points from MJ Tierney after the break as they tried in vain to close the gap, and while Cork managed hust three points in the second half, they won with plenty to spare.

Division Two leaders Tyrone picked up their fourth win in four outings with a comfortable 2-11 to 0-8 win over Westmeath at Healy Park.

Kyle Coney kicked three superb points, and Peter Harte netted a 33rd minute penalty as the Red hands took a 1-6 to 0-2 lead into the interval.

Martin Penrose drilled home a second goal, and although substitute Denis Glennon hit three Westmeath points, the Red Hands were much too strong as they won pulling up with late scores from Sean Cavanagh, Coney and Johnny Lafferty.
